Studies show that eating breakfast can help math, reading, and standardized test scores. Breakfast also helps students pay better attention in class, perform problem-solving tasks, and improves memory. Serving breakfast in the classroom can also help reduce tardiness and absences.
Holy Rosary School is pleased to provide free daily breakfast meals to UPK students through the Child Nutrition Program of the Archdiocese of New York. Meals meet USDA guidelines, which reflect the best nutritional science available. Every breakfast service includes offerings of fruit, whole grains, and low-fat or fat-free milk. Breakfast is served in the UPK classrooms as part of the regular school schedule.
Holy Rosary School provides hot lunch through the Child Nutrition Program of the Archdiocese of New York. All meals served are in compliance with the nutritional guidelines established by the USDA. Students may be eligible for a free or reduced lunch as determined by federal guidelines or may purchase lunch for $2.00/day. Students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade may also purchase snacks and ice cream.
